Lake Bin el Ouidane

A true carp fishing adventure

Three hours from Marrakesh airport, set high within the spectacular Moroccan Atlas mountains, in an area of rich natural beauty, it has to be one of the most unique settings anywhere worldwide to fish for carp.

The Bin el Ouidane Dam

The Bin el Ouidane Dam is an arch dam designed by Coyne et Bellier and constructed between 1949 and 1953, the purpose of the dam is hydroelectric power production and irrigation.

The Atlas Mountains

With snow capped mountains, lush green valleys and remote pinnacles, the lake offers a real escape from the busy european lakes. The surrounding landscape of BEO is truly breathtaking

Carp stock

Carp were first introduced to BEO in 1994. These carp thrived on an abundance of natural food, year round warm waters allowing for spawning to happen throughout the year, and a thriving aquatic ecosystem.

A true carp fishing adventure

Lake Level

The lakes immense topography of old river beds, deep waters and massive shallow bays, islands that appear and disappear as water levels fluctuate, warm year round crystal clear water and a deep rich red clay lake bed, all add to the fascinating nature of fishing BEO.

Day and night

The land where time is forgotten…

The backdrops of the rich red clays, mountains and blue sky’s are stunning, and the calm, still, stary nights have a magical feel to them.

The Climate

We are lucky to have a wonderful climate on the lake, the winters are sunny and warm and water temps remain relatively high. Many choose BEO from september to April, you can escape the cold, grey European winters and fish in warmth and sun.

What anglers say
"This is a truly magical place to fish, it's wild and at times very tough on the angler, when you are up against both the weather and fishing you may need to dig deep into your personal reserves, it really is a carp fishing adventure unlike anything you will experience on commercial fisheries in Europe, so come prepared for all eventualities, above all else be positive and don't let the elements get the better of you."
"This whole experience enriched my life immensely and was something I will never forget. The things that we take for granted everyday seem light years away to people which live over there, but they do not worry about it and just live their life."

"This is just how carp fishing was meant to be in my opinion and the luxury is just a little extra. This is just what will keep me going back to this beautiful place."

"Being in the plane now, flying back home, I could not but think this was probably the most impressive fishing experience I ever had. I took me a long time to finally make the decision to come a first time, however the decision to come back is already made."

"The sun sets and sun rises were unrivalled - all in all a very enjoyable trip and I shall be heading back early next year to get amongst the bigger Moroccan carp. "

"The Moroccan Carp team has an amazing thing going on here and looks after their guest very well. Top Top Top business. Will strongly recommend this to any angler that enjoys a wild session looking for some very big fish – or as Sam calls them - Big Mammas!"
